Attorney Richard H. Dollison, PC

Attorney Richard H. Dollison has practiced law in the U.S. Virgin Islands since 1994. His career in law began as a paralegal with a litigation firm in New York, NY, where he worked from 1988 until 1993. He also worked as a law clerk in the U.S. Virgin Islands during the summer of 1991, while still attending Fordham University School of Law in New York. Admitted to practice law in 1994, Attorney Dollison became a partner in the Virgin Islands-based Stryker law firm in 1999, where he continued to practice until 2013, at which time he created his own firm.

Mr. Dollison has a well-established history representing banks, corporations, time share associations, and other creditors in cases involving debt collection, and the enforcement of the creditors’ rights. He represented the plaintiff bank in the litigation in which the Supreme Court of the Virgin Islands established the judicial criteria for mortgage foreclosures in this jurisdiction. He also pioneered the use of ‘in rem’ mortgage foreclosures in the context of un-probated estates. He was actively engaged in the largest bankruptcy case ever filed in the U.S. Virgin Islands, being a 1.8 billion dollar case; as well as filing the largest involuntary bankruptcy in this jurisdiction, which was a six hundred million dollar case.
